HH Jigdal Dagchen Sakya Rinpoche was born in Tibet in 1929 and practiced meditation under the guidance of many eminent Lamas. In 1959 he and his family moved to America to participate in a research project on Tibetan civilization at the University of Washington. They made their home in Seattle and Rinpoche established a centre for cultural and religious learning in the West. After a lifetime devoted to the practice and teaching of Buddhism Rinpoche passed away on April 29, 2016. As with all great spiritual teachers his legacy continues as the direct realisation that it inspires in his students.
